I like either or, but sometimes if the game is a little too realistic, such as having to pay for the damages occurred in every race and your car quickly becoming useless due to wear, then that can make the game less enjoyable for me. Grand Turismo has always been one of my favorite racing games, as well as Mario Kart. Another racing game I used to play was Chocobo Racing and recently I've dabbled in Sega GT 2002.
