Well i cant think off a Useless item but for Worst/Most annoying status effect i would have to go with the pokemon debuff thing called Confuse.

God when i was younger i got so p****d of with waiting for my turn when the enemy was beating the sh*t out of me while my pokemon was scratching his ass
