Microsoft are simply looked down upon because they are an industry leader; perhaps it's jealousy that causes people to hate them so much?

The reason, for example, XP has so many viruses is that people choose XP over, say the Mac, to attack, because more people have them so they can do more damage. Mac and XP are still both as unstable as each other.
