Default Third person or first person?

Which do you prefer? I love 3rd person games such as socom but alot of people I know like first person... Why do you like what you like?

I like 3rd person cause I think I can see more action and where I'm getting shot from.

I have mixed feelings over this.

GoW was great with 3rd person and it wouldn't have been the same game if in 1st person IMO

And a similar story with Halo 3, because its a fast paced game I think its better in the 1st person perspective rather than 3rd.

If I had to choose between the two I'd probably like 1st person for shooters, but as i said it depends on the game.

Hmm, first person for a fast game that needs quick reactions and aim, Third person for slower games. Splinter Cell comes to mind.

I think BF Heroes is 3rd person, that'll be interesting.

I mostly prefer games with a first person shooter because I get more of sense that it is ME who is doing all of the things in the game, and less my character. But games with hybrid versions of 1st and 3rd person, such as the Rainbow Six Vegas series, really open up the game in terms of gameplay.
