Whats everyones views on MGS4? I currently own a PS3 but have only ever played one game on it completed it then never played again.. Is it work buying the game? I have played the previous MGS but cannot remember the storyline too well..

Would it be wise jumping in at the deep end so they say?

I have it. I haven't beat any MGS game before this, I barely remember anything form them. But I don't think that matters, and this is probably the game of year type of stuff here. Definetly worth picking up.

i've played every metal gear game but the psp ones. MGS4 is one of the most amazing games i've ever played. story, gameplay, graphics are all perfect. solid 10 in my book.

Ok cool, I may have to get it but I sold my ps3 last night! haha so may have to go out and buy another.

I've read that it could be coming to xbox but won't be for 12-14months!

it's never coming to 360. MGS4 is impossible on 360. the game fills a dulllayered blu-rey disc. that's about 50GB it would take about 6 DVDs to hold that much.

it's the first PS3 game that's truly not possible on 360. PS3 is just a more powerful system and blu-rey is a huge asset.

I disagree.

I understand a blu-ray disc holds far more data than a regular dvd but just how much of blu-ray disc is used up to run this game?

the disc is maxed. like i said it filled a dulllayered blu-rey 50GB that's around 6 DVDs. besides i question 360 ability to run this game seeing how choppy mass effect runs. i really don't think it's capable of it. you'd have you see this game in action to understand.

Well seeing as I own mass effect and haven't this choppy picture your talking about I cannot understand.

I think its just luck of the draw for example I have pro evo soccer 2008 on xbox - Perfect gameplay but on the PS3 it was very choppy? why I do not know but it was.

If playstation 3 can play a game one a DUEL-Layered disc then im sure xbox can manage with '6 discs' The elite is capable of hitting 1080p just the same as playstation so really the graphis issue would be a problem, and with the design of both consoles it shouldnt be a matter of one console being able to runa dn game and the other not, they are both powerful machines and are both capable of performing well.

okay i just did a little looking around and MGS4 is technically possible on 360 it would require cutbacks in details and nuances but it can be done. although i wouldn't count on it.
