Does anyone here still play and MUDs/MOOs/MUSHes or whatever acronym your online text based game chooses to go by?

I love MUDs for a lot of reasons - the role-play in them tends to be very good, and often the worlds / combat / economy are better executed than in a graphical game. Many, such as Achaea and Aetolia, have free to play options as well as pay to play.

If I'm playing an MMO or RPG, I'll often have an online text game open in the background, and swap between them to take part in both games at once.

I tried a couple MUDs a while back. They are alright for some good super oldschool gaming, but it got kind of boring.

Yeah i used to play MUD's but they just arent for me. I used a client called zMud or something similar, cant remember now, but it was fun when i played, but just got boring, and its not for me really.

I never thought that Mudds were all that entertaining but some people seem to like them very much, it is just not my personal type of gaming but I do know a forum that has this feature..Brand new forum but it is a RPG and RP community. www.rpgraid.com/forum

I love the things, although I only play them in bursts. During those few days, though, I'll play them avidly for hours on end. There's something about them that keeps drawing me back. Must be the roleplayer inside me.

Yeah i play it. That game never gets old for me. Truly one of my favorites!

Not play anymore. I know this game also quite interesting but maybe my time for being a gaming maniac already pass but if just to entertain my kids and nephew I still can give a time.

I'm not sure if Furcadia falls under the definition of MUD, but I messed with it sometime back, though, it wasn't that fulfilling. When it comes to text games, I prefer forum-based, post-by-post RPG's, or old school DOS programs.
