Default Nintendo Wi-Fi

I'm planning on connecting my Wii to the Internet, but I need to get a wireless router first. I was wondering if anyone else here has used a wireless router to take advantage of Nintendo Wi-Fi on the Wii? I've never used a wireless router before, and am uncertain of how they work and if they can be problematic. I know that they send out some kind of signal to your devices. Can certain other devices that are near the router interfere with its performance? Have you ever lost your connection due to issues with the router? Any information on Nintendo Wi-Fi and wireless routers would be appreciated, as well as alternative methods of hooking the Wii to the Internet. Thanks.

I have a Nintendo Wii. I also have a wireless router.
I have never tried to connect my Wii to the wireless router.
It's very simple to use a wireless router. You only need to connect the router to your internet connection, and voila, you have wifi all around your house.
I am not sure though how to connect the Wii to the Wifi signal.

I think that you have to register your connection by accessing the settings found when you first start up the Wii. But thanks for your input.

I've used a wireless router with my Wii but only for a short while. I haven't had any problem when I used it.

Yes; that's a pretty standard thing with any electronics these days. It rarely happens, though.

Nope. I've only had a router for a couple of months now, but it's been problem free as far as the Wii goes.

AFAIK, the only alternative to a wireless router is a wireless USB device that plugs into a computer. The computer has to have an internet connection and I know of no place to buy these devices other than direct from Nintendo.

Yes, and it was a decision well made. You can do all sorts with a Wii online

Huh? I dont about things interfering with it, I have a plasma lamp next to it, and a radio on top lol. I have never had any problems with the router so far. Basicaly, a router spreads the internet connection wirlessly around a certain area, usualy just enough to cover a house

Hmm, yeah the USB (sold seperatly) but the router is so simple. I have only lost my connection because of the ISP. Not the router itself.

My wireless router is downstairs and my Wii is in my room and it loads faster than the laptop
