Do you guys now what happened to the Atari company??? Did it simply vanish or go bankrupt?

Atari still sells games, though, I'm not sure what all they've been doing recently. You can buy plug-and-play systems that have built-in Atari games, and the system doubles as the controller. I have one, but I rarely play it. However, other people in the house use it on occasion.

The company failed after the Lynx and Jaguar didn't perform well and was absorbed into another company. That was essentially the end of the original Atari company. The name and properties were bought by Hasbro and later by Infogrames, who own it now.

There definitely not dead as a company or maybe they sold the rights of certain ips to different companys I'm not sure.

Atari, like Sega, gave up on consoles. I guess they just didn't deem it profitable anymore. They still make PC games, and some of them are really good.

They did not keep up of what was hot and they felt back and had to close down shop. I saw something about the history of gaming once on G4TV they talked about them

Oh I see. Too bad they are gone. They were a pioneer in the video gaming industry.

Who knows maybe they'll make a comeback?
