Independence War 2 Problem

I have just bought I-war 2 and i am having a very annoying problem. Some (well a fair bit) of the ingame text doesn't show up its there because moving my mouse over it makes the selecting sound but i just cant see it

looked about but cant find the problem anywhere else. Any help?
