Wireless Adapter for Comp Gaming
Hey all, I'm knew to the forum and first I am looking for some assistance. I recently fixed up my old computer, a Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows xp. It works much better than it did, and I am looking to play computer games on it. The problem is I need a wireless adapter to connect to the internet, since my main comp is downstairs and connected to the router. There is a signal that reaches my room, but if I buy a range boosting attennae it should be 100%, but im not worried about that now.
I am looking for a suggestion on a PCI-adapter with a hi gain antenna, or whatever works the best to play games online on. I am looking for a reasonable price around the $60-$90 dollars range. The one I was considering was this one.
Linksys WMP54GS Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster - My router is a LInksys Wirless-G with speedbooster. The only thing i used it for was my Wii which is in the back of the house.
The games I like to paly online are WoW, Starcraft, Diablo, and a couple others. The one I am worried about is WoW, since it might not be the best connection but as long as it works, it won't bother me. Also, my Xbox 360 is goign to be set-up in my room so I can connect Live to my comp there easier if possible.
The main thing I want to do, is have a good internet connection in my upstairs so that I can play computer games. I played DS and PSP before in my room with Wi-Fi, so I know a signal reaches.
Thanks, and I am glad to have joined this forum.
