Why does this thing get to have it's own section for movies at stores? It seems to me like the PSP is just another way to rip people out of their well earned money. A portable dvd player is better in the long-run, because eventually support for the PSP will fade out.

thats true dude, but PSP brings in many features at the same time in a single device, Because you can play games, browse the internet and also play music and movies, does a DVD portable do all these and i would also like to touch on the aspect, do you really think that the sizes of two match.

Indeed it is I agree whole heatedly this is what always happens with the support of a new format that is solely based to one system, I mean can't sony at least use like mini dvds next time instead of these fucking umd things, I mean you pay 250 for a psp and then the support is gone in the next 3 years...

I don't play my PSP much, and I've never bought a movie for it. Don't see the point, when it's much more satisfying to watch a DVD on the big screen and most situations that require a portable wouldn't last long enough to be able to view an entire movie. However, I might be able to see the value if you were going on a long car trip and didn't have any other way to watch movies.

haha yeah I had a friend a while back that used to by movies for his and he always regretted it becasue he was paying more for them then I was paying for a copy of the same movie on DVD.

I wonder where you can buy the movies to play on the PSP. I don't recall having seen them being sold anywhere.
